Windsurfing

Marcello began windsurfing (sailboarding) in the early 1980s when the sport was just starting up in South Australia. He raced successfully and completed many epic long-distance journeys on his sailboard, usually (but not always!) with a variety of friends. Here are some videos about his windsurfing, including the recent creation of a long distance windsurfing trophy named in his honour.

In this video, recorded in 2022, Marcello gives an extensive overview of his involvement in windsurfing adventures for more than 40 years.

On the 24th of March 2024, a group of windsurfer friends of the Brighton & Seacliff Yacht Club decided to organise a Trophy in my name, to foster free windsurfing crossing of South Australian waters, not as a competitive race, but for pure pleasure as I have been doing with friends since 1980. This trophy is my legacy to encourage others to continue to explore the beautiful waters of South Australia, in good company and in safety.
